8 player support

Isn't the Wii theoretically able to support 4wiimotes and 4 gcube controlls. Shouldn't at least nintendo be able to tap into such rich and raw power to fuel large parties at my house that require 8 people playing the same game at the same time? Even if they could what would/could they do with it in a game?8 player support
Wii can only do 4 players. and 8 player splitscreen would be epic fail8 player support
Who said it had to be split screen?

i would think that for the upcoming bomberman wiiware game u could have 8 players on one wii, i think it could happen. Bomberman 93' on the vc supports 5 players, via any combination of wiimotes and gc controllers.
Bomberman '93 can support up to 5 players.
