For some reason, my download speed for Final Fantasy was dreadfully slow. Nothing wrong with my internet, which is quite speedy, so I'm assuming it was shop channel traffic. Also, I got Adult Luigi running instead of Mario who usually comes. I only get Luigi once in a while :P.
For me Mario gets like 1-3 coins for every time he passes.

Change your routers channel to 1 or 11 and it should fix it.
i mean its not like i have a problem with lag when i play online or anything. even the internet channel seems slow to open web pages. I think it is the store, because everything else does pretty well.

The Wii could certainly stand to improve a little, but the speeds aren't anything that I've thought to complain about.
I downloaded Lost Winds this morning and it took under 2 minutes that is not to bad.
Lostwinds this morning was just a couple mins for me as well. Then Defend Your Castle this evening took like 20 mins. As Jaysonguy said, its a big business day for the Shop Channel.
My download speeds are pretty fast. Roughly 15-20 seconds for NES titles, about double that for SNES, and OoT took about a minute, if that.I think there's a lot of traffic on the shop channel today. It took me about two and a half minutes to download Lostwinds.I have cable internet, so I usually never have any speed problems.
So far it's taken me around 15-20 minutes to download Lost Wind, and I'm still only about two-thirds done. So yeah, the servers are as slow as ''molasses on a winter morning'' today.

When did you download it? Also, I know it's not just my connect (though I won't say it's not part of the problem), becuase normally the shop channel is pretty fast for me (the Nintendo channel took about a minute, and that's just around half the number of blocks as Lost Wind).
not to scare you but i bought a wii , did system update, it took me like 45 min...
Under a minute each for me this morning for LostWinds and FFCC:MLAAK. It took a while to actually connect to the shop but once I'm there, download was fast.
slow for me too... i downloaded that defend castle thing and it took about 15 minutes. i couldn't believe it
