Mario Kart Wii stats broken?

Normally this doesn't bother me but when you get credited for games you did not play (whether a win or loss, doesn't matter) you start to wonder. Let me explain. I check my license to see that I have a 27-1 record in WFC races. I only played around 12 games and lost the 13th against my friend so that should read 12-1, instead it's doubled. The other weird thing, I went online to play WFC Team Battles for the first time today. I did average, won slightly more than I lost, somewhere around 7 wins 5 losses. I go to the license page and see that my Battle Win/Loss reads 11-21. I'm thinking this is a bug and start to confirm by playing 3 matches quickly. I win 2 matches, lose the next and check my record again...which now reads 19-30. My record should've read 13-22. Maybe you guys can confirm this theory, but I think someone may have been assigned my WFC code...or maybe I am missing something altogether. Accurately a win is a win and a loss is a loss and this doesn't seem to reflect that. Either way if it's broken it most likely won't be fixed as nintendo doesn't patch their games. Have you been playing with multiple players on your console? This might have an impact. Otherwise, you're guess is as good as mine.Mario Kart Wii stats broken?
Yes there are multiple racers but that shouldn't matter and it wouldn't explain how I go from 11-21 to 19-30 in just 3 matches. That's an 8-9 difference in 3 matches. The other account does not play online at all. Maybe delayed stats...who knows. I'm gonna play another couple and figure this out. I'll let you know what I find.
Ok I did another test, played 5 games. Won 3, lost 2 team battles, when I went to check the records after the first win, it registered fine and my record read 20-30. So the next 4 should've put it at 22-32 since i got 2 wins, 2 losses. The record is now 30-40...this is seriously buggy. Gonna create another account and see if that misreports as well.
No. Mario Kart DS did the same thing. If there are 12 racers in a match and you finish 2nd. You will get 10 wins and 1 loss. You beat 10 people to the line (3rd - 12th) but 1 (1st place) beat you to the line.
Hiho, I'm assuming you're talking about WFC Race, but I'm talking about Team Battle, something different altogether. Either way, thanks I'll keep this in mind and make notes on where I finish on my team and then do calculation after 2-3 matches. Kudos to you if what you say is really the way it is.

[/QUOTE]I believe Team Battle works somewhat the same as well, just counting the amount of points each player has and which team they're on.
Hiho, I will take that into consideration. It makes sense in a weird way, cause the odds of having a positive win/loss ratio in 12 man races would be very very low. You have a 1 in 12 chance of winning and I guess nintendo wants to give credit to the people that partook in the race and give them back a little something rather than just a frustrating loss match after match. Now that I look at it, you are most likely correct. My record read 19-30 and I got into a match with me and another guy on my team vs 1 other on the opposing side, so a total of 3 players. I came out on top and got a win for it an no loss since I was the leader. This is when I said my record was proper at 20-30. Had there been 2 others in front of me it would've registered as 2 losses and 1 win...I see what you're saying now. Thanks.I wouldn't mind exchanging friend codes with you, if you're ok with that.

I finish 3rd out of 12 racers, mathematically I get 2 losses because 1st and 2nd place are in front of me, but net 9 wins because players 4 through 12 are all behind me, bringing the win/loss record to a correct 39-10. Case closed!
