so, its almost inevitable that we will get a glimpse of Mario Party 9 at E3, if not, then some point after.Im all for party games, and enjoyed the odd Mario Party in my time, but i really think that Nintendo is flogging a dead horse, i know it sells, but its just dire and repetitive.Thoughts?Mario Party should Give Up!
I dont think they should give up just make it a main focus for once really work there butts off on it to make it new again like the 1st 3 Mario Party should Give Up!
They should not give it up. Like you said, it sells, and it sells ALOT. It would be downright stupid for Nintendo not to keep releasing them.
I dont think they should give up just make it a main focus for once really work there butts off on it to make it new again like the 1st 3
yeah, if they pumped as much effort and money into it as most of their other IP's maybe it could stand a chance, but just look at the gamecubeiterations, if thats anything to go by i wont hold my breath
I agree 100%. I guess if you have a lot of friends they might be fun, but Nintendo does need to take a break from them. I'm surprised they churn out as many of those as they do consdering we only get one Mario Kart and one Super Smash Bros. per console lifetime.
it deserves one last shot with online play
it deserves one last shot with online play
online play? isnt that kinda Anti Mario Parties purpose?
If you don't like it, don't play it. It brings a lot of people enjoyment, and has the right to exist based on that alone.
I agree 1-3 were great, but the rest were terrible.
If you don't like it, don't play it. It brings a lot of people enjoyment, and has the right to exist based on that alone.
i dont like it, and i dont play it. i just think its mediocre.

it deserves one last shot with online play
online play? isnt that kinda Anti Mario Parties purpose?
yeah but it would do so much better with online
If you don't like it, don't play it. If Nintendo took back the franchise and did it themselves, instead of letting Hudson make it, we may have a better chance. Second and Third parties don't seem to know how to revolutionise any core franchises, so they churn out the same stuff.
Nintendo just really needs to put a lot into the making of the next one... a whole lot! With the wiimote and online it could really be great.
im complaining out of principle. i would like to like it, and wish they would make a GOOD mario party game, and the lack of need to make 1 a year, its ninty not EA. not only that, if its got nintendo's name and mario's name on it it ought to be good. but it isnt. i just think it dosent help the nintendo image amongst certain crowds of people is all. i always associate nintendo with good quality games... not average
Honestly i think they should really take another 2 or 3 years and really trying fixing it up, im sure they can do way better than what they are doing now
They need to put more work into it but also they need to add online play next time
I agree 1-3 were great, but the rest were terrible.
I liked 4 it was pretty good
This thread should never have been created and should cease to exist. Mario Party games are great, all of them. I own 4, 5, 6, and 7 on the Gamecube, 8 on Wii and used to own 1 and 2 on the N64. Sadly I never owned 3 I was only able to rent it, and I've never played Mario Party Advance or Mario Party DS, but they're all great games. Each one has over 60 to 70 new mini-games and that's half the fun right there trying to unlock them all. It's really ingenious how Nintendo is able to keep coming up with all these great mini-games to play and keep them fresh, mind you there's a few in each game that aren't as great as the others but they're still awesome. Not to mention the 6 different boards that each game has, every time a new Mario Party comes out the boards keep getting better and better. And Mario Party 6 and 7 each came with a Microphone, which was well worth it. And the characters, if you played Mario Party 8 you'd know that there's now 14 to choose from, the roster keeps growing and growing. You don't think it's cool that you can now play as a Blooper and Hammer Brother?, no other Mario game lets you do that. And you can use Mii's in Mario Party 8 with special mini-games specifically for the them. If you don't like Mario Party that's your problem, there's millions of other people who do. How can you call yourself a Mario fan if you don't like these masterpieces? This type of thing should be posted in your blog and not in the forums wasting space. Why would Nintendo stop making games for one of their top franchises? That's not stupid, that's just insane.
