Agree 100%
I definitely thing the nunchuk will be the first thing revamped and perfected next generation for the Wii. I like the idea of a IR pointer for it as well, I never thought of that. Your other ideas are great too, basically making the Nunchuk as capable as the Wii remote motion-wise.
If they did put a pointer in the Nunchuk, then they would also need to use something other than AAs in the next-gen Wiimote (as is, the one pointer alone is a power hog).
Yep. I wanted all of that since the beginning, so I'm right there with you broski:)
No More Heros- The on screen actions indicated for finishing moves that require you to use both the Wiimote/nunchuk do not work correctly. You can basically do what ever your want with the Nunchuk, and the finishing move will still work.
That's because finishing moves only require the Wiimote in the first place. :
|About the NMH thing, the wrestling finishing moves need both, but it still needs a little work recognizing the motions.
A pointer on the the nunchuck may require batteries. if they ever make the wii2 they better have a rechargable controller ready out of the box.
You had some decent points in your post about what Nintendo could do to improve the nunchuck, but I thought of one other thing that you didn't mention. Nintendo could make all of their nunchuck attachments wireless instead of waiting for a third party company to make them, like they did with the current generation.
Nintendo probably considered all of this. With the Nunchuk having the same tech as the Wiimote, you're talking about $80 for one full remote, and probably double the batteries. That's over $100 more for 4 Wiimotes+Nunchuks than it is for the current controllers. Right now the controllers are comparable in cost to 360 and ps3 which is probably what they were going for. It would be cool, I agree...but I don't want to pay for that. Not to mention there may never be a Wii2. Nintendo doesn't usually do the same thing twice.
they could just make a new nunchuck for the wii nowwhy do they have to make it for a new system when they could just put it on this wii but then nunchucks would be more expensive
The WiiMote and Nunchuck for me were..WiiMote: 44.99 + TaxNuchuck: 24.99 + Tax So each ''full'' Wii controller is around 80 dollars. I have 2 of them so theres 160 dollars i've spent.(not to mention batteries)Now try your idea of two WiiMotes with more motion sensors in the other one....Wii Mote: 44.99 + TaxNew Attachment: 44.99 + TaxNow your at around 100 dollars per ''full'' controller and if you add in rechargable batteries your looking at another 20 bucks.... Personally I would have payed for it but Nintendo wants to keep costs lower then the competition.
i dont know about an IR pointer for the nunchuck. it sounds great on paper but could lead to alot of confusion. in the heat of battle..it would be hard to tell which one is which and that could lead to frustration.however better motion sensors are definately a must with the nunchuck. id also like to see an improved stick, more buttons and perhaps a scroll wheel, if they cant fit it on the wiimote, for wii2. a POV hat could also be handy for extra camera control also.
Yep their accuracy can be improved lots.
It tickles me to think it can be better still while having so much fun with it already.
Agree 100%
Same with me, and your MP3 graple idea is especially awesome :)
I think it would be cool if they would just utilize 2 Wiimotes for 1player games more often. Sure, twice the batteries, but then they can do EVERYTHING you're talking about for the ''Wii2'' right now!I DID just realize the need for an analog stick, but, uh... I dunno. Nintendo, figure something out!
i think there need to be several redesigned for the next gen after this. Not all games are suited to the whole wiimote affair.... some are just far better using a controller instead, in my oppion.
make them both wireless and thats a big improvement already, HD is a must for the next wii, and maybe rumble in the nun chuck part as well, oh and keep the blue LED its smexy... and might as well make the analog on the nun chuck pushable for an extra button.
So long as the next generation of Nunchuck provides the functionality of the current one (so that complete backwards compatibility is possible), I'm all for adding new functionality,
